There was excitement today as African Rural University passed out 33 students at her first graduation ceremony held at the University Campus in Kagadi town Kibaale district.
The graduation ceremony show students receive Bachelor’s Degree in Rural Development and others with Certificates in Rural Entrepreneurship and business.
As it is the norm in Academics, African Rural University Academic registrar Valerious Ndagijje requested the Chancellor Hon. Justice Ezekiel Muhanguzi to confer Degrees to graduands as presented by the Faculty Dean Mr. John Tusiime.

After conferring degrees to the students, chancellor launched the African Rural University Alumni association.In his remarks, the Chancellor said that many graduates have been missing link in transformation to promote self-sustaining development in rural marginalized communities.

The Queen of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Margret Karunga Adyeeri was gratified about the graduation which has elevated the image of the region in regard to Education development.Karunga asked the graduates to preserve and protect the cultural practices of Bunyoro Kingdom.
Addressing the congregation, the chairperson ARU council, Mrs. Joyce Mpanga said that African rural university heads to becoming an incubator of innovation from rural transformation technology including production and enhancement.
The Colorful function was graced by founders of URDT who included Dr Mwalimu Musheshe Senior, Ephraim Rutaboba, Silvana Franco Veltkamp, ARU Council members, Political leaders led by the Lc5 Chairman Kibaale George William Namyaka and staff from Kagadi Hospital- Centenary Bank, Parents, religious leaders and several dignitaries.
