African Rural University was selected by the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program (CADFP) to host an African Diaspora scholar from [the United States/Canada] to work with on a collaborative project on promoting effective teaching methods at African Rural University and increasing creativity and innovativeness in production and use of audiovisual learning materials . Thus making classes more interactive, activity and inquiry based. Uganda [Niwagaba Ben] will lead the project, together with Dr. Frackson Mumba, a Fellow from University of Virginia, United States. The prestigious program is funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and managed by the Institute of International Education (IIE). The United States International University-Africa (USIU-Africa) in Kenya provides strategic direction through Dr. Paul Tiyambe Zeleza and an Advisory Council he chairs.
