Joseph K. Mukiibi
Joseph Kugulukumu Mukiibi was born in Kakumiro District Uganda in 1937. He graduated with BSc of the University of London in Botany and Chemistry and PhD of the University of St Andrews in Plant Pathology. He lectured at Makerere University for 21 years rising to become Head of the Department of Forestry, Head and Professor of the Department of Crop Science and Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry. He worked for the Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) for 15 years as founding Director General of the National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO).
He spent one year as Visiting Professor at the University of Nairobi Kenya, three years as Visiting Professor at Sokoine University of Agriculture, United Republic of Tanzania and two years as Chief Research Scientist, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, in the Republic of South Sudan. Read More

Ms. Jacqueline Akello
She is the Pioneer University Secretary for the African Rural University (ARU) for women in Kagadi. She oversees finance and administration. She hass been instrumental in the development and growth of the University as Director Programmes from 2004-2010 with URDT the founding entity. She brings a wealth of development and gender related experience through her work as a Manager, Social Researcher and activist with local and international women agencies. Jacqueline Akello holds a Master of Science in Development Management from Open University- United Kingdom. She holds a Post Graduate diploma in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science with Political Science and Social Administration both from Makerere University. David R. Mutekanga (PhD)

David R. Mutekanga is acting as the Academic Registrar of African Rural University. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Biology and has a PhD in Environment Management from Makerere University Kampala, Uganda. He undertook his Post-doctoral studies in Education for Sustainable Development at United Nations University in Tokyo, Japan.He has over 15 years experience in environment related organization and management,environment policy research, analysis and advocacy and in Education for Sustainable Development. Mr. Niwagaba Ben
Ben
Ben is the Faculty Dean of African Rural University. He holds a Bsc. Ed, MESC (Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda.Ben carried out a research about Factors Influencing Secondary School students’ Preferred Choice of Science Subjects in south-western Uganda in 2012 in, fulfillment of Masters Dissertation, Makerere University. His research interests include; HIV/AIDS (Drug-drug interactions, career guidance, etc). Mr. Byayesu Paul
Paul
Paul is the Acting University Librarian of African Rural University. Paul holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology and a Bachelors degree in Library and Information Science from Makerere University. He has previously served as a College Librarian at Masindi National Teachers College a position he held for two years. Ms. Akiso Agnes
Agnes is acting as the Human Resource officer of ARU. She is also the Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor. She closely works with the Vice- Chancellor in planning for research and development, mobilizing, managing the utilization of human and capital resources, controlling, budgeting and leading the implementation and development of the university programs, Agnes worked as an Administrative Assistant at Uganda Christian University, Personal Secretary at Busitema University and she has a rich background in NGO work. Mr. Tusiime John
John
John Tusiime is lecturer at ARU. John holds a BSc. (Environmental Science) and a Masters of Art in Ethics and Public Management from Makerere University. He is an experienced consultant and facilitator in Strategic Thinking and Planning, Organizational Self-assessment, Visionary Leadership, Visionary Planning, and Human Rights-based approach to Programming across Uganda. Mr. Ndagije Varerious
Ndagije
Mr. Ndagije Varerious is a Lecturer at ARU. He holds M.A Human Rights and B. Educ. PGD in IRD, three group Diplomas in PAM. He possesses numerous certificates such as in Law; and Basic Military Science and Political Education. He taught in Secondary Schools; was a S.A.S; and A.C.O in Kibaale District, Human Rights Officer with UHRC; Board Member for URCS plus many Schools. He taught at Graduate and undergraduate levels. He teaches Human Rights, Peace and Justice; Public Policy Management, Geography, History, Political Education and English Communication Skills. His has researched widely in children’s rights.
