The Chancellor for ARU Hon. Justice Ezekiel Muhanguzi has called upon the graduands for the 4th graduation to effectively fulfill their individual responsibility in rural transformation. Justice Ezekiel said this during the 4th graduation ceremony of ARU that took place on the 16th November 2018 at the ARU main campus in Kagadi Western Uganda.

For the last 4 years you have undergone intensive and rigorous  preparation through theoretical training,project work  and field based training through practicum and internship). You are now ready to go out and transform your communities where you will be assigned. I urge you to effectively fulfill your individual responsibility in rural transformation. Secondly we expect you to continuously contribute towards African renaissance through research and continued generation of value based knowledge. We need to appreciate the values and virtues of our society upon which transformation initiatives should be buttressed. Go out and be effective change makers and agents.

He called upon the congregation and Uganda in general to reflect on the theme for this year’s graduation, which is “Contributing to African Renaissance through Higher Education”. He said that the rebirth of Africa is reflected through the continued effort by university towards endogenous knowledge development.

He applauded the Government of Uganda and other partners in the District of Kagadi for the continued support and favorable working environment provided and continue to provide to African Rural University.
