African Rural University (ARU) has hosted the 2018 Ugandan University Quality Assurance Forum (UUQAF) workshop. The workshop took placeo from 3rd to 4th December 2018 at the ARU Center for Reflection and Development Hall in Kagadi District Western Uganda.
The theme for the workshop was “Enhancing Qualitative and Quantitative Data Analysis skills for improved Quality Assurance Output”. The workshop was officially opened by the ARU Vice Chancellor Mwalimu Musheshe (PhD). Mwalimu said that data becomes stale if not regularly well cleaned and updated. He added that the workshop should be in position to enable participants generate synergy for team learning and be able to design tools, clean data, analyze and even interpret findings.
Dr. Mushehse brought to the attention of participants that ARU has positioned herself to create women leaders because they are the best change makers and change agents. “Educate a woman you educate a household, communities and the nation”. He said that ARU trains a student how to be a creator rather than one who reacts and depends on others for survival. “We ask the question what will you create for yourself and the nation? rather than what will you do after graduation? ” said Dr. Musheshe
The workshop brought together Quality Assurance Personnel, Higher Education Registrars, Deans and Heads of Department, Higher Education Administrators, and Higher Education Planners from UUQAF member University. They were trained in Data Analysis, Ranges, Anchoring, and Data Tables, Probability Probability Distributions, among others.
