The lead celebrant of the congregation was Hon. Justice Ezekiel Muhanguzi, Chancellor African Rural University. He urged the graduands to be ambassadors of ARU wherever they are going to be from the day of graduation onwards. He added that as ARU graduates, they have the responsibility to demonstrate visionary leadership at the individual, family, and society, national and global levels. “You are one of the very few who have been trained to the level of certificate or bachelor’s degree in working with the principles of the creative process, systems thinking and sustainable development”, says the Chancellor.

He further said that Whereas many graduates in the world do not see opportunities in the rural areas, the graduates should seize those opportunities, enroll others on the basis of their aspirations and concretized vision so that they can together make the rural areas a magnet attractive enough for other youth to seize the abundant opportunities that are untapped in the rural areas at the moment.
