The Vice Chancellor of ARU Dr. Mwalimu has pledged to train members of Kyenzige Maternal Agency Group in skills for self for reliance. He said this during the meeting that was organized by the Epicenter Manager for Burora Sub county Goreth Anakuya. The meeting took place on 2nd June 2018 at ARU’s Center for Reflection and Development Hall.

Kyenzige Maternal Agency Group is a womne’s group was formed by an ARU intern student Ms. Nabukirwa Scholastica in 2009 during her one year internship. She  joined the group and facilitated them to create a vision and how to work and live with structural tension.

In 2009, the group had 11 members and today they are 27 working together having a shared vision.

The group vision is  to have healthy pregnant women and their children less than years within 10 years. The group has managed to accumulate savings of million. Each member was given six chairs, one blanket of 4 kg, and one pair of bed sheets. members were given 3 Saucepans others 4, one dozen of plates and one dozen of cups each.

During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor appreciated the group  for keeping  the group alive since 2009 and not allowing it to phase out since even after the  initiator had left. He added that he is going to mobile a team of facilitators to retool the group with soft and hard skills that will enable the group be more product especially in the area of working and living with structural tension, entrepreneurial skills and visionary leadership and planning.
