The Founder and Vice Chancellor of African Rural University Dr. Mwalimu Musheshe has been praised by the speaker of parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga for empowering women  in greater Kibaale, Bunyoro and Uganda at large through education.

Kadaga was presiding over the international women’s day cerebration  for Kagadi district which took place on 9th March 2018 at Rugashari Sub County. She said the government is proud of the commendable work that Dr. Musheshe is doing in supporting and women empowerment especially through the African Rural University for women which is training Rural Transformation Specialists.

She also urged girls to stay in school if they want to have a bright future.

On this day, ARU students demonstrated showcasing some of the technologies that can be used by people in rural areas to improve their lives. some of the technologies include; a food flask made out of local available materials, village technologies for creating, herbal soap, rocket stove among other.

The products presented during the event were made by the students when they were tasked to come up with a practice goal. Each student came up with her own practice goal and used the principles of the creative process to realize the goal.
