African Rural University (ARU) has officially welcomed its new cohort of students, marking the start of the academic year with orientation sessions designed to introduce them to the ARU education model and the unique opportunities it offers.
A total of 29 students participated in the orientation, which included sessions on the Foundation Course, ICT training, library use, and a full campus walk-through. Each student was given a student handbook and introduced to the various resources and opportunities available across the University campus.
During orientation, students learned about the ARU Education Model, which equips graduates to become rural transformation specialists ready to contribute meaningfully to communities immediately after graduation. They were informed about the unique opportunities they will have to apply their learning in practical, real-world settings.
These students will now embark on a journey to become effective change agents through ARU’s two flagship programs: the Bachelor of Rural Development and the Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Agriculture. Over the course of their studies, they will engage with and disseminate three core masteries;Mastery of the Creative Process, Mastery of Systems Thinking, and Mastery of Sustainable Development.
We warmly welcome all new students to ARU and look forward to supporting you as you begin this transformative journey toward creating lasting impact in rural communities.
