The vibrant campus of African Rural University (ARU) is abuzz with excitement as new students embark on their academic journey for the 2024/2025 academic year. Today, ARU held its first orientation session at the Lecture Theatre for the incoming freshmen of the Bachelor of Rural Development and Bachelor of Sustainable Agriculture programs.

This orientation marks the official start of the academic year 2024-2025 and provides an opportunity for new students to familiarize themselves with the university’s mission, vision, and the essential tools they will need for a successful transition into campus life.

During the session, students were introduced to ARU’s mission and vision, which are deeply rooted in empowering individuals to drive rural transformation through education and hands-on learning.

A key highlight of today’s orientation was the presence of ARU’s University Secretary, Rose Keishanyu, who warmly welcomed the freshers. This was followed by the introduction of the Student Handbook, a comprehensive guide designed to support students as they adapt to campus life. The handbook covers important information such as academic policies, campus resources, student services, and the code of conduct. It is intended to provide students with the necessary tools and information to navigate their university experience smoothly and successfully.

The orientation was graced by the presence of key staff members, including the Warden, Robinah Nabwire, Alinda Joy, Assistant to the Academic Registrar, and the ARU Administrator, Kasfa Ategeka.
