African Rural University (ARU) has deployed 41 students for community engagement and field-based learning following an intensive preparatory workshop.

This deployment marks an important step in ARU’s experiential 60 percent theory-40 percent practical   learning model, where students transition from classroom learning to direct engagement with communities as part of their training in rural transformation.

Through this engagement, they will strengthen their practical skills while contributing to ongoing efforts aimed at improving rural livelihoods.

Beyond academic requirements, this field experience contributes to a broader development question; how learning institutions can actively support implementation of national development priorities?

Through this approach, ARU continues to position experiential learning as a bridge between education and real community development practice.
