Today, African Rural University (ARU) held a Validation Workshop at the Centre for Reflection. The purpose of the workshop was twofold
- To offer a platform for the handover of ongoing projects to key personnel for continued follow-up.
- To gather recommendations from faculty and stakeholders on improving the internship and practicum experience for ARU students.
The event attracted local government officials, families, and community members from areas where ARU students have been engaged in internship, practicum, and research activities. During the workshop, students made insightful presentations showcasing the impact of their fieldwork.
The activity was coordinated by Mr. John Tusiime and Ms. Night Theopista. Community members expressed appreciation for the work done by ARU interns and made valuable recommendations to ARU and its mother organization, URDT.
The Academic Registrar, Mr. Lwanga Anthony, was present and spoke about ARU’s unique education model, encouraging community members to enroll students in the Bachelor of Rural Development and Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Agriculture programmes. 11 interns made presentations during this workshop with community members and local government leaders giving their input on what worked and what didn’t work with recommendations
