The Professors Without Borders (Prowibo) 2025 Summer School has officially kicked off today, August 25, 2025, at the ARU campus, bringing together students, staff and community members eager to explore sustainable innovations for rural development.
This year’s theme is “Upcycling for Sustainable Village Entrepreneurship,” and this involves turning everyday materials into business opportunities that benefit both communities and the environment.
The program is facilitated by experts from Professors Without Borders, including Dr. Akbar Saeed and Tabi Mughal. At ARU, Milly Muhindo Desire is coordinating the sessions, ensuring students gain a rich blend of theory including live lectures, focus group discussions and hands-on practical work around the theme.
Over the next two weeks, participants will learn how to transform discarded or unused materials into sustainable products, developing skills that can promote entrepreneurship and community impact.
